With over 23 years of experience working across government, academic, and private institutions, Dr. Mitchell brings extensive expertise in analytical methodologies for characterizing both wild-type and recombinant viruses.
Throughout his career, he has worked with numerous viral systems—from AAV to Ebola—across all biosafety levels (BSL1–BSL4). Prior to joining Matica Bio, Dr. Mitchell held key roles at Fujifilm Diosynth and iBio, where he led analytical development initiatives, established a biosafety level 2 mobile clean room, and served as a technical lead and primary analytical liaison for multiple client projects. His work has consistently ensured method development and validation in alignment with ICH guidelines.
At Matica Bio, Dr. Mitchell oversees analytical development and quality control strategies that support process development, GMP manufacturing, and product release. His deep technical background and leadership in biosafety and viral analytics continue to drive scientific rigor and quality excellence in advanced therapy manufacturing.
